Republic Polytechnic, Thursday, May 23, 2014 — Meridian Junior College (MJC) picked up their fifth consecutive win with a 16-1 victory over Innova Junior College (IJC) in the National A Division Girls Floorball Championship.

MJC top their group with a perfect 5–0 win-loss record while IJC have lost all five of their games.

MJC move into the semi-finals with Hwa Chong Institution (3–1–1) who finished second.

Ho Lin Xuan (MJC #80) scored the first goal just five minutes in the game. Jocelyn Lee (MJC #7) followed with a second goal just four seconds after the face-off. MJC picked up two more goals in the first period to get a 4–0 lead.

MJC picked up eight total goals in the second period before allowing Nor Nellysha (IJC #24) to score the only goal for her team.

MJC picked up four more goals in the third period to win the game 16–1.

MJC captain, Mindy Lim (#6), said, “It was a good match against IJC. I’m glad that everyone did their best in both offence and defence. I hope that we can continue to play well in the semi-final and hopefully the final.”
