Presbyterian High, Thursday, April 3, 2014 — St. Hilda’s Secondary (SHS) defeated Dunman Secondary (DMN) 2–0 in their final Round 2 group game in the National B Division Boys Volleyball Championship.
St. Hilda’s have defeated all three of their opponents in the second round. With that they finished top of group X with a 3–0 win-loss record to qualify for the semi-final. Dunman lost their only game to St. Hilda’s to finish second in the group. They have also qualified for the semi-final.
St. Hilda’s dominated in the first set to take a 25–11 win.
Dunman responded to St. Hilda’s attack with an offensive block, slamming the ball back to their opponents’ side to claim the first point in the second set. On the other hand, St. Hilda’s gained their first point through Darrek Yeo (SHS #6)’s unattended spike. The duo of Marc Lee (SHS #4) and Trevis Tan (SHS #5) were crucial in gaining points for their team with their strong spikes. St. Hilda’s led the rest of the game to take the set 25–17.
St. Hilda’s will take on Presbyterian High in the semi-final, while Duman will face Catholic High.
