Bukit Merah Secondary School, Thursday, February 27, 2014 — Bukit Merah Secondary (BMSS) notched its third straight win in the first round of the National B Division Girls Floorball Championship with a 16–2 win over Bedok South Secondary. Jacqlene Ong (BMSS #14) led all scorers with seven goals.
The win lifts Bukit Merah to the top of Group G with a 3–0 win loss record. They have been on a tear at the moment, scoring 56 goals in their past three games. Bedok South drop to third in the group with a 1–1 win–loss record.
The first period saw initial resistance from Bedok South. After Jacqlene (BMSS #14) opened the scoring for Bukit Merah, Nur Ismanina (Bedok South #66) answered back with a goal of her own. Bukit Merah then scored five consecutive goals to take a comfortable lead.
The subsequent periods saw Bukit Merah assert their dominance on both ends. Bedok South could not find a way past their defence and were unable to muster a shot on the Bukit Merah goal. Siti Nurhaliza (BMSS #8) scored a nice goal in the second period, firing a laser from the left wing into the opposite corner. Bukit Merah found plenty of success scoring from crosses, which led to easy goals.
This is Bukit Merah’s third successive game in which they finished with a double-digit margin of victory.
