Bukit Merah Secondary School, Thursday, February 20, 2014 — Defending champions Bukit Merah Secondary (BMSS) maintained their perfect record, defeating Bedok North Secondary (BNSS) 17–2 in the National B Division Girls Floorball Championship. Jacqlene Ong (BMSS #14) and Lina Chu (BMSS #24) scored five goals apiece to lead their team.
The win puts Bukit Merah at the top of Group G with a 2–0 win–loss record. They beat Chua Chu Kang Secondary in their opening match 23–0.
Even though they were the underdogs coming into the match, Bedok North started off the first period well. Their players were purposeful with their passes, building play up slowly to try and exploit gaps in the Bukit Merah defence. They drew first blood, Siti Maisarah (BNSS #5) firing the ball into the lower left corner after a nice assist from her teammate. Completely unfazed, Bukit Merah equalised immediately after the face off. Farhanah (BMSS #9) caught the Bedok North keeper napping, firing into the top corner.
The Bedok North goal galvanised Bukit Merah from that point onwards, as they started to play tighter defence. On offence, they started to lay siege to the Bedok North goal. Despite some initial resistance, Bedok North started to crumble.
The second period saw Bukit Merah score two quick goals at the start. Bedok North still hung in the game, creating a few scoring chances. Unfortunately, they were let down by poor finishing. Bukit Merah shot at every opportunity possible, scoring another five in the period. Bukit Merah led 10–2 at the end of the second period.
The final period saw Bedok North put up a strong resistance, but Bukit Merah would find a way to put the ball into the net each time. They were successful in running the ball down the right wing, before pulling it across the Bedok North goal for a teammate to score. This allowed them to put seven past Bedok North in the quarter, chiefly from this strategy. Bukit Merah finished the game with a 17–2 margin and their perfect record intact.
