ITE College West, Friday, November 15, 2013 — In a rare event which saw the three best teams with identical win-loss records, Republic Polytechnic (RP) claimed the Polytechnic-Institute of Technical Education (POL-ITE) Basketball Men’s Championship by virtue of having a superior points difference. RP’s lone loss came against Temasek Polytechnic, while their 85–47 thrashing of Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) was one of the highlights of the tournament.

In the women’s championship, Temasek Polytechnic (TP) pulled off an upset, dethroning three-time defending champions RP. RP suffered a 67–68 loss to ITE, as well as a 38–63 thrashing by TP. This allowed TP to coast to the title undefeated, setting the stage for a good run in the upcoming Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Basketball Championship.

The teams played in a round-robin format in their group of six, with the top three teams securing qualification for IVP.
