Clementi Sports Hall, Thursday, July 11, 2013 – Jurong Secondary cruised past Fajar Secondary 66–19 in Round 1 of the West Zone C Division Boys’ Basketball Championship. Jurong finished second in the 2012 zonal championship.
This was Jurong’s second straight win and they top Group B. Jurong’s first win was a 67–19 victory over Jurongville Secondary.
For Fajar, this is their second loss after a 40–33 defeat by Dunearn Secondary in their opening game of the championship.
A 25–3 first quarter for Jurong set the tone for the rest of the game and by half time, Jurong were up by 30 points (37–7).
Tan Zun Wen (#10) of Jurong had a game-high 13 points and the whole Jurong squad except for one player got their names on the scoresheet. Seet Zhi Yun (#9) of Fajar had a team-high 11 pts, including one 3-pointer.
Jurong will next take on Juying Secondary on Monday, July 15.
