Siloso Beach, May 28-29, 2011 — 72 players from 36 teams battled it out on the sandy beaches of Sentosa over the last weekend at the Volleyball Association of Singapore’s U17 Beach Volleyball Competition.

Designed as a platform for youth beach volleyball players to compete on a more competitive basis, this competition also served as a tune-up for the Sentosa-MOE Beach Volleyball Tournament in November.

Anderson Secondary emerged champions in both the boys’ and girls’ categories to become the biggest winner at the tournament. In addition, a second girls’ team from Anderson Secondary emerged second runner-up in the competition.

Underdogs Pasir Ris Crest Secondary and Dunman High also posted commendable results as they managed a fourth-place finish in the boys’ and girls’ category respectively.

While the other schools may not have won silverware, they have certainly gained experience from participating in this competition.

Here is a picture story of the competition.
