Presbyterian High School, – Shuqun Secondary took a huge step towards qualifying for the B Division boys volleyball semi-finals by beating Catholic High 2-0 (25-21, 25-18) in a second round group match.

Shuqun Sec’s #6, easily the tallest player on court, was dominant with powerful spikes to gain valuable points for his team. It was Shuqun’s resilience that saw them break an early 7-7 tie in the first set to outlast Catholic High 25-21.

The second set saw Catholic High’s attempts to maintain their winning streak frustrated by crucial errors. They eventually yielded the game 18-25 to their West Zone opponents in surprisingly quick fashion.

Both teams still have all to play for in the round robin format as they have yet to face the other teams – St Hilda’s Secondary and Dunman Secondary – in their group. St Hilda’s proved their pedigree with a 2-0 win over Dunman in another match.
