ACS(I), Tuesday, March 29, 2010 – Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) took up the challenge out of Hong Kong and hosted a legends coaching clinic for rugby.

The clinic was run to assist the various schools and was coached by All-Blacks legend Sean Fitzpatrick, David Campese, a legend with the Australia Rugby Union, as well as Gareth Jenkins and Jonathan Davies, both from the most successful ever Six Nations Welsh team.

Boys from Damai Secondary, ACS (Barker Road), Raffles Institution and ACS(I) received coaching in the basic skills. The young ruggers also played a game of captain’s ball with the legends which allowed them a chance to play alongside their heroes.

In talking to the kids after the event, the student athletes expressed great joy in having met their legends and some even went out and bought rugby balls for the legends to sign along with their rugby boots, jerseys and t-shirts.

This was a great event for the schools concerned.
