CCAB, Friday, 13 June, 2008 – Anglican High eased to a workmanlike 74-45 win over Yishun Secondary to qualify for one of the top-six positions of the T-Net Cup. This tournament is organised by the T-Net Club for the Under-14 school basketball teams as a tune up for the upcoming Inter-Schools C Division Basketball Championship in July.
Anglican High jumped to a 28-10 lead from the start and never looked like relinquishing its lead throughout the match despite rotating its entire bench for the game. Yishun Sec, on the other hand, were heavily reliant on a few key players.
Forward Sherwin (#5, AHS) proved too fast and strong for the Yishun defense, leading his team with 19 points. He was joined by teammates Jeremy (#8) and Jasper Choo (#6) with 15 and 12 points respectively.
Jasper, though understandably happy with his performance, was guarded about his team’s chances in the competition.
“There are many other good teams… but we are especially wary of the Unity basketball team,” was his reply. Unity Sec had earlier cruised to a 56-37 win over Jurong Sec to qualify for the top-six position while Raffles Institution beat Hougang Sec 55-26 to qualify as well.
Yishun Sec were not without its positive moments. Point guard #7 led his team with some robust play to score 12 points. He was also involved in an intense personal duel with Anglican High’s Sherwin midway through the game which threatened to boil over. Fortunately, good sense prevailed. Teammate Kamaruddin (#13) also had a good game with 14 points.
The rest of the matches continue on Monday at CCAB with six other team vying to clinch the remaining three spots for the final-six places.

anw i really think sherwin lack of the experiences. his skill and fitness are good but the only thing is he dunno how to use it to the fullest. AHS center are good and the point guard kang liang is smart and his assist are good. so i am confident that my juniors can do it ! GOOD LUCK for all your matches
to the person ” haiyo” : i think you are damm outdated on how sheldon play his game now. so please dont make such comment only If u wan to make such comment pls ensure that u are fit to say so. i went to watch the youth cup this year and saw him playing and his style of playing is way different. anw i also saw him in the adidas team this year so are u telling me a solo and selfish player can get into the team with his selfish and solo play. please la think about it.

” ahs can only dominate east zone ” – players like sherwin, khan liang, bala and jeremy being players with the most minutes even when they were in sec 1, and they still achieve national top 4. i beg to differ with this dumb comment.
AHS very pro wan loh. got bala and jeremy to catch the rebounds. sherwin khanliang and jasper to score the points and auston to assist they will surely OWN the whole c’div. =D
who say ahs no centre..i saw number #11 play before, he displays great amount of potential. i think he is just sick and will appear soon on court =D
please look out for me in the future. I’ll be back! Although I scored 0 in that match, I played a defensive game ok! LOLS. Look at the very first picture! It’s me giving the yishun player a good block on the ball. PRO RITES. LOLS xD

oh,so no.7 of ahs kang liang is the captain?he played a fabulous game.oh,if i’m not wrong he is one of the secondary one with the highest vote for the top 5.gonna watch him play.

seems like u all are just looking at those team who take part in this competition.there are still alot of sch outside.like phs,jurong,unity and mayflower.they are strong too.to mfss jurong phs unity and ahs.try your best can le.haha
