Four teams remain unbeaten in the A Division Football Championship. Anglo-Chinese Junior College have a perfect 4-wins-0-losses record while Victoria Junior College (4-0), Meridian Junior College (3-0) and Catholic Junior College (2-0) have also yet to lose or draw a game.
While ACJC lead Group A comfortably and should qualify for the semi-finals, the fight for second place is still wide open with all teams theoretically still in with a chance. Defending champions Raffles Junior College have a less than sterling record (1-2-1) so far and will be bitterly disappointed not to qualify along with ACJC who inflicted their single loss on them in a 1-2 defeat.
In Group B, Victoria Junior College should qualify easily in first place after having banged in 15 goals so far in four matches for a perfect record. The team is showing an impressive fitness level, running their opponents to the ground. The fight for second place is now a three-way fight between CJC, MJC and HCI (2-0-1).
N.B. Many of you have asked for table standings, fixtures and results. A reader by the name of Danial Jamal took the initiative to provide Group A standings. There is no way to provide timely information without your participation. You can volunteer to help out on this site by emailing me. You can read more at the football fixtures+results page.
okok can
vjc is by far the most consistent team…at least in grp B…meridian vs victoria…one to watch…am a fan of meridian’s captain, #8, and victoria’s Anders, #9.
wahh, why say vjc get first place so early. still got matches to play sia
In the fixtures and results page, its states VJC beat IJC 6-0. Actual fact is its 3-0. So, that cld be corrected. =)
The Group B table will be updated only if readers provide complete information for the whole table, i.e., the numbers for the W, D, L, F, A, GD and Pts columns for every team is added up and sent to us. I have no time to do this unfortunately.
VJC scored 15 and conceded only 1. Please edit.
RIght, ac. Thanks.
“Anglo-Chinese Junior College have a perfect 4-wins-4-losses record…”
