“Cool, calm, steady, fast, aggressive, fire!”

These were the few words that constantly rang through the players’ head. Having met OPS once in the second round, the players of TKGS were definitely raring to play against their opponents again.

The atmosphere was tense as the game commenced with TKGS taking the field. During the first few plays, it was evident that the TK players were not themselves, probably due to the mounting pressure. There were a couple of slip-ups in their defense and a lack of aggressiveness at bat.

When OPS scored the first run of the game, the morale of the TK players went down. It certainly did not feel good to be trailing. But applying one of the school’s values, the TK players fought back with sheer determination.

After the conference with the coach to awaken the players and the spurring on of teammates, TKGS managed to pick up the play. The players regained their composure and started to hit more. As soon as TK scored their first run, the confidence in the TK dug-out was boosted.

From that point onwards, TKGS played cool and calm, hitting the ball hard and fielding efficiently. They held the lead attained in the fourth inning over their opponents, and after the last pitch was sent in to strike out the opposing team’s batter, the TK players jumped in jubilation as they clinched the national title once again.

The player’s emotions were clearly depicted on their sweat drenched faces. After all the arduous training under the hot sun, it was definitely a well-deserved win.
