Hello again everyone! Thanks for tuning back in.

This is Cheng, still here at Toa Payoh Sports Hall, now reporting live for the National ‘B’ Division Girls Volleyball Final between Jurong Secondary (JSS) and Sembawang Secondary (SMB). Brian’s still here with me, and so is Shao Wei. And Coach Dick Yip has just joined us!

LIVE REPORT
16:18h – SMB take the early lead in the first set 7-4.
16:20h – JSS take over the lead 9-8.
16:22h – After a long beautiful rally set, JSS pull away to a 12-8 lead.
16:23h – So the Live Reporter hears that neither JSS nor SMB have lost any single game on their route to the National Final this year. Hmm. I foresee some excitement in the next hour or so.
16:26h – JSS continue their run and surge ahead to 16-10 lead.
16:28h – SMB put up resistance and close the gap at 16-13, scoring three consecutive points. JSS call for a time-out.
16:31h – SMB put up amazing fight and take over the lead 17-16.
16:33h – JSS counter-attack and stall SMB’s scoring, getting five consecutive points to lead 21-17.

16:36h – JSS move closer toward taking down the first set at 24-18.
16:37h – JSS win the first set 25-18 and lead the game 1-0.
16:38h – Okay, the Live Reporter thinks the crowds for this game are crazier. The flag-bearers from the two schools are running around the gallery, bearing the respective flags and driving the supporters wild. Awesome.
16:44h – The second set has started and been moving slowly as both sides take turns with the scoring. SMB take a quick lead 8-6.
16:45h – SMB take another point quickly to lead 9-6, and JSS call for a much-needed time-out.
16:46h – SMB continue the run after the time-out and take the lead ahead 11-6.
16:48h – JSS commit rotational fault and SMB gain a point to lead 13-8.
16:50h – JSS catch up with no.3 Ang Qi Hui making three consecutive points to bring the score to 12-15.
16:53h – JSS threaten to catch up to a level, but SMB find the fighting spirit to pull away 19-16.
16:55h – SMB gain another point to lead 20-16, and JSS call for a time-out.
16:56h – JSS commit mistake by pushing the ball lightly into the net, and SMB close in on the second set at 23-16 with another spike.
16:59h – SMB win the second set 25-19 and both teams are now tied 1-1 in the game.
17:04h – SMB start the third set slow but catch up to a 5-5 tie.
17:05h – SMB no.2 Michelle Tan makes yet another beautiful spike to take the lead 6-5.
17:10h – Both sides continue with a show of good saves and the score crawls on at 11-11.
17:11h – SMB pull away to a 14-11 lead and JSS call for a time-out.
17:13h – JSS fight back and trail only at 14-15.
17:15h – SMB make two crucial errors in judgement and lose the lead 16-17.
17:17h – JSS pull away to a vulnerable 19-17 lead and SMB call for a time-out.
17:20h – SMB take over the lead 21-20 and JSS call for a time-out.
17:22h – JSS make two powerful spikes and inch closer to the third set at 23-21. SMB call for a time-out.
17:24h – SMB make a good save, keep the ball alive on a counter-attack and gain one point to trail at 23-24.
17:25h – JSS win the third set 25-23 and lead the game 2-1.
17:30h – The fourth set goes underway and SMB lead 6-4.
17:32h – SMB take another quick 3 points and move ahead with a 9-4 lead. JSS call for a time-out.
17:34h – SMB no.12 Lynette Sim makes a powerful spike that JSS cannot save, and helps SMB pull away to a 12-5 lead.
17:39h – SMB continue to lead at 18-11.
17:43h – JSS fight hard and bring the gap closer to 16-19.
17:45h – JSS slip up a little and SMB bring the lead to 22-18. Can SMB keep the game alive?
17:47h – SMB win set number four and tie the game at 2-2. Both teams go into the final and deciding set.
17:50h – The fifth set has started and the Live Reporter finds a volleyball flying in her direction. It’s not easy being a live reporter. Equipment safe and sound, phew!
17:52h – JSS start the fifth set leading at 2-0 but make a few crucial mistakes and SMB take over the lead 5-4.
17:54h – SMB surge ahead for a 9-4 lead. SMB coach is singing! "Ole! Ole! Ole! Ole! Ole! Ole!"
17:57h – SMB lead 11-6 and are just four points away from the championship.
17:58h – SMB inch toward the championship at 13-8.
18:00h – JSS give relentless chase and bring the score to 10-13. SMB call for a time-out.
18:01h – JSS no.6 Jacqueline makes a potentially fatal mistake when she serves the ball in the net, helping SMB move to a 14-11 lead.
18:03h – JSS no.2 Ang Jia Lin makes the fatal mistake by serving the ball into the net. SMB win the fifth set 15-12, and the championship 3-2.
