Singapore Sports School beat North Vista 32-5 in a ‘C’ Division Netball game at Northland Secondary yesterday.

The formidable SSP team, in their red outfits, took on a relatively inexperienced team from North Vista.  It was a game that can aptly be described as "they came, they saw, they conquered."

As soon as the game got underway, the difference in class showed. In the 1st quarter, SSP took a 7 – 2 lead which increased further to 15 – 3 at the halfway mark.  After the restart, there was no let up by the SSP girls.  They dominated most of the play and took a commanding 24 – 4 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter.

There was simply no way back for North Vista against a team with so much talent.  When the final whistle was blown, the score read  32 – 5.   In defeat, the NV girls took it all quite calmly and warmly shook the hands of  the victors.  There was no display of utter desolation or buckets of tears.  Credit must be given to them, despite the loss, for holding themselves well.  Their Principal, Mr Lim Lai Chuan,  who was present, later talked to his team.  His turning up to support his team spoke volumes.

SSP star player Claudia D’Silva (WD), who was rewarded with the" Rising Star Award" in 2006 by her own school, was outstanding in the game. NV’s  Dominica (GD) was their best player.
