Presbyterian High, Friday, February 24, 2012 — Punggol Secondary led from start to finish to see off Ang Mo Kio Secondary 2-0 (25-11, 25-17) in the opening match of the National B Division Boys’ Volleyball Championship.

Punggol had a good start and were leading 10-3 before Ang Mo Kio called a timeout. There was no stopping Punggol as they continued their scoring streak despite Ang Mo Kio’s attempts at catching up.

Punggol were soon leading 24-11 after the Ang Mo Kio #14’s spike hit the antenna. They then finished off the set with a spike.

The start of the second set was a much closer affair as errors in Punggol’s play allowed Ang Mo Kio to keep the score close. Midway, Punggol raced ahead and established a 21-13 lead over Ang Mo Kio.

Ang Mo Kio managed to score subsequently but were still trailing 17-24.

Punggol then took the match after a miscommunication by Ang Mo Kio saw the ball set into a zone with no spiker.
