Jiyai Shin comes from behind to capture the HSBC Women’s Champions

A first year member of the LPGA, Shin started the day with four birdies on the first four holes and went on to shoot another two birdies on the back nine. Already a household name on the LPGA Tour before she joined it officially this year, Shin adds this victory to her three other LPGA Tour victories including the 2008 RICOH Womens British Open, Mizuno Classic and ADT Championship.

Lorena Ochoa chasing the pack as three share the lead after Day 1 of HSBC Women’s Champions

Americans Jane Park and Paula Creamer were joined by Angela Park of Brazil out in front after rounds of 67. Seon Hwa Lee of Korea bogeyed the final hole to slip into second spot with Japanese star Ai Miyazato. Defending champion Lorena Ochoa sits at three under par with four others all ready to pounce on day two.
