Raffles Institution come from behind to edge past Peirce in South Zone basketball

In the end, Raffles Institution (RI) had to go through a third consecutive nerve-wracking game to pip Peirce Secondary 38-35 at the buzzer. A last second lay-up and a subsequent free throw by a Raffles player ensured that RI won despite having trailed most of the game.

Presbyterian High to put on a 5-on-5 basketball competition to raise funds for their indoor sports hall

On Saturday, March 8, 2008, Presbyterian High School will have a Jumbo Jumble Fair to raise funds for an indoor sports hall. As part of the activities, a 5-on-5 basketball competition will be staged at the school. There are boys and girls Under-12s, Under-14s and Under-17s categories. Teams who sign up will get funfair coupons and freebies.

RI stun Catholic High to rescue season

Raffles Institution (RI), on the brink of elimination from the first round, stunned Catholic High 52-51 to secure their passage into the second round of the South Zone Basketball Championship. RI's were facing the prospect of a first round exit after they lost 44-45 to Henderson earlier in the week. This left them having to beat the formidable Catholic High team in their final group game to qualify for the second round.

adidas U-18 selection gear up for challenge against national U-18 squad

Basketball fans can look forward to a mouth-watering clash between the adidas Under-18 basketball Selection and the Singapore national Under-18 team on March 21, 2008. The players for the adidas team were picked at a trial held in December 2007 and they have been training together every Saturday since the first week of January 08.
