Teck Whye claim C Div hockey title with 1-0 win over St Nicholas Girls’

Delta Hockey Pitch, Friday, July 30, 2010 — Teck Whye Secondary joined their B Division seniors in tasting championship glory when they edged out CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ 1-0 to win the C Division Hockey final.

The match was a close one with both teams pressurising each other from the start. Teck Whye came close to scoring several times, with shots from Tiffany Ong (Teck Whye #68) and Hanisah Bte Zainudin (Teck Whye #32) narrowly missing the goal.

The deadlock was finally broken midway in the second half when a shot by Tiffany Ong (Teck Whye #68) found the goal amidst a pack of players crowded in front of the St Nicholas goal.

St Nicholas tried to equalise in the few remaining minutes, but their efforts were futile as Teck Whye held on to the final whistle to claim victory.
