Singapore complete 28th SEA Games outing with record medal haul of 259
Singapore's 259 medals in the Games also surpasses the record of 164 medals (50 golds, 40 silvers and 74 bronzes) which was set in 1993, when the Games was last held at home.

SEA Games Badminton (Men’s Singles): Debutant Kean Yew loses in straight sets to settle for bronze
Kean Yew posted a 20–22, 15–21 defeat despite a hard-fought match against Malaysia's AB Latif Mohamad Arif. The Singaporean's bronze is the only Single's medal for the hosts.
SEA Games Basketball (Men): Singapore retain bronze with victory over Thailand
Singapore defended their bronze medal, beating Thailand 54–49 in a nail-biting 3rd/4th placing match of the men’s basketball competition at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. Larry Liew scored a game-high 18 points while Wong Wei Long added another 13 in the victory.

Singapore went down 72–82 to Philippines to register a 1–4 win-loss record. They finish fifth in the tournament.
