IVP Track and Field: Dipna Lim Prasad and Valerie Pereira almost break national record in scintillating 200m duel

Dipna Lim Prasad and Valerie Pereira, both of Nanyang Technological University, pushed each other to within 15 hundredths of a second off Prema Govindan's women's national 200m record of 22.54 seconds set in 1984 at the Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Championships. Dipna edged Valerie by just a hundredth of a second in a time of 24.68 seconds.

Youth Olympic Triathlon: Clara Wong and Scott Ang team up with international triathletes in mixed relays

Singapore's Clara Wong was the lead-off swimmer for a world team comprising Italian Livio Molinari, Puerto Rican Cristina Betancourt and Zimbabwean Boyd Littleford and they finished 12th out of 15 teams in the mixed team relay. Scott Ang was part of an Asian team that finished in 15th and last position. But results was not all that mattered on the day as friendships were forged within and between the international teams.

Youth Olympic Athletics: Zachary Devaraj lowers 1000m personal best to 2 minutes 32.27 seconds

Zachary Ryan Devaraj goes 2 minutes 32.27 seconds in the 1000m to set a new personal best by half a second. He placed 16th overall and will compete in the "B" final this Sunday. Liang Wei runs 12.79 seconds in the 100m heats to place 18th overall. The time was off her personal best of 12.58s.

Youth Olympic Athletics: Singapore duo fail to hurdle personal bests en route to identical 16th place finishes

On the first day of athletics competition, Singaporean hurdling duo Goh Wei Ning and Sean Toh posted 16th place finishes in the girls' 100m hurdles and boys' 110m hurdles. Wendy Enn finished 21st in a field of 27 girls in the girls' 400m. They all failed to better their personal bests.
