Hougang Sports Hall, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 — Bedok North (BN) Secondary defeated Kent Ridge (KR) Secondary 12-0 in the National B Division Girls Floorball Championship.
The win gives Bedok North a 2-0 win-loss record, after their opening 8-1 win over Tanjong Katong Girls’ School. For Kent Ridge, this was their opening game of the season.
The first period saw Bedok North seizing the ball swiftly from the opposing team with deft maneuvers and quick passes. They built a clear lead of 4-0 by the end of the first period.
Bedok North contained the ball within in Kent Ridge’s half, forcing their opponents to take on a more defensive stance.
Despite the Kent Ridge goalkeeper keeping her guard up, she was no match for the quick movements of the Bedok North attackers who added three more goals to make it 7-0 heading into the final period.
The final period did not see Kent Ridge making a comeback as Bedok North made it virtually impossible for them to score a goal. Bedok North added another five to make it a 12-0 win.
Bedok North captain, Nur Fatihah Durrani Bte Hamizan (BN #1), said, “We trained very hard and motivating one another through the course of each match was key to our victory. Even though the two matches we’ve gone for were a success, we still have to work hard on improving our fitness.”
