Hougang Sports Hall, Monday, May 9, 2016 — River Valley High School (RVHS) defeated Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) 2-1 in Round 1 of the National A Division Girls Floorball Championship.

RVHS ended Round 1 with a 3-2 win-loss record, while HCI finished with a 2-3 record.

RVHS missed out on the semi-finals on goal difference.

Lim Qian Hui (RVHS #8) scored both goals for River Valley High.

The match was a relatively tight one and the first goal was only scored with three minutes of the first period to go. Lim Qian Hui (RVHS #8) went around the goalpost and unleashed a drag shot that found the mark, giving River Valley a slight 1-0 lead.

Vera Peh (HCI #21) equalised for HCI in the second period, driving the ball into goal from the semi circle.

The game was decided only in the last two minutes of the game when Lim Qian Hui (RVHS #8) put a high shot into the net to devastate HCI and evoke loud screams from the River Valley bench.

Hwa Chong found it difficult to equalise and River Valley eventually wrapped up the 2-1 win.
