Hougang Sports Hall, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 – Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) defeated Yusof Ishak Secondary (YIS) 4-3 in a tight match, improving to a 3-1 win loss record in the National B Division Floorball Championship. Yusof Ishak drop to 1-4.
Fuad Adely (YIS #7) was the top scorer with two goals.
Haikal Helmy Bin Mohd Norhelmy (ACS(BR) #17) scored the opening goal to loud cheers from the his bench. ACS(BR) went 2-0 up before Yusof Ishak replied with a goal to reduce the deficit to 1-2 at the end of the first period.
Yusof Ishak levelled the score at 2-2 30 seconds into the second period. Yusof Ishak had a nervous moment when they went a man down afer a foul but ACS(BR) could not score with their one-man advantage.
However, ACS(BR) proved their superiority in the final quarter when they outscored Yusof Ishak 2-1 to wrap up a 4-3 win.
Captain Shawn Chan (ACS(BR) #77) said, “The opponent played very well, but my team had a greater desire to win, so that was why we won.”
