OCBC Arena, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 – Serangoon Garden defeated Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) 58-23 and clinched their second consecutive win in the South Zone B Division Basketball Championship.
Captain Vinayagmoorthy (SG #12) had a game-high 26 points.
Vinayagmoorthy (#12) bagged 10 points in the first quarter to allow Serangoon Garden to build a comfortable 15-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, ACS (I) fought back more aggressively. Serangoon Garden had better accuracy, and outscored ACS(I) 17-8 to lead 32-15 at half time.
The third and fourth quarter saw Serangoon Garden pull away even further, holding ACS(I) to just four points in each of the quarters as they scored 26 points.
Vinayagmoorthy (SG #12) said, “It was sad that one man (Darryle SG #4) was down in this game. As such the team was not in such a good state but we were still happy that the team won the game.”
