Singapore Institute of Management, Monday, September 28, 2015 — National University of Singapore (NUS) waylaid a spirited Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) 3-0 to complete a sweep of their round robin games of the Singapore University Games (SUniG) men’s volleyball championship, securing themselves a berth in the final.

SIM were led by Daryl Lee (#7) and Ronald Goh (#10) on the offensive end, but they were outclassed by the defending champions, who were led by Lu Zuokun (#3) and Yew Zi Wei (#13).

While the game was initially within striking distance for SIM, Samuel Ng’s (#7) insertion in the second set came as a huge boost for NUS.

Ng’s (#7) set up several unpredictable spikes by Lu (#3) and Yew (#13), and eventually sparked NUS to a second set victory.

SIM, determined to force a fourth set, went all out and matched NUS point for point in the third set, until the final moments.

Two costly errors on their part allowed them to concede two crucial points, to allow NUS the victory.
