Singapore Institute of Management, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 — Long rallies defined the game, which went down to the wire.

Both teams made mistakes. But Nanyang Technological University (NTU) had fewer of them, which eventually helped them to a 3-1 win over an equally matched National University of Singapore (NUS), earning them their second straight win in the Singapore University Games (SUniG) women’s volleyball championship.

While NUS took the early lead in each set, unforced mistakes were their bane. They conceded the first two sets by two points each and only managed to overwhelm NTU 25-14 in the third set to force a fourth set.

Led by Ryshire Wu (#2), things looked promising for NUS early in the fourth set as they romped to a 6-0 lead.

However, things took a drastic turn, as their mistakes came back to haunt them and NTU eventually powered through for a 25-20 fourth set, securing their 3-1 win.

NTU will next face Singapore Institute of Management on Friday, 7.15 p.m., while NUS will face Singapore University of Technology and Design in the following game at 8.30 p.m. Both games will be played at the Singapore Institute of Management.
