Bukit Gombak Stadium, Monday, April 20, 2015 — Raeshon Loo of Singapore Sports School clinched the gold medal in the C Division boys’ 200m event at the 56th National Inter-School Track and Field Championships.

His timing of 23.84 seconds was the only one in his field that was under 24 seconds.

Victoria School’s Ban Cheng Hong was second with a time of 24.05s. Finishing just 0.1s behind and in third place was Or Yong Jing of Hwa Chong Institution.

The meet record of 22.99s set in 2003 is held by St. Joseph Institution’s alumnus Mohd Yusof Bin Azhari.

“It was an amazing race; it was all glory to God, definitely,” Raeshon said. However, not all was smooth-sailing for the 14-year-old.

“My season was not perfect. I was down for the SAA Track and Field Series 1 and 2 in the beginning of the year,” he explained. “But I came back from the recent Western Australia Little Athletics Association Games and I’m proud of my personal best today.” His time was 0.4s under his previous personal best.

Raeshon will be competing in the 4x100m relay final on Wednesday, the last day of the championship. It will be held at Choa Chu Kang stadium.
