Bukit Gombak Stadium, Monday, April 20, 2015 — Raffles Institution’s Hariz Darajit (#299) overcame stiff competition to win gold in 22.55 in the B Division boys’ 200m event at the 56th National Inter-School Track and Field Championships.

Right behind him are Singapore Sports School’s Edwin Tan (#299) and Joshua Lim (#200) of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) with the silver and bronze medals with timings of 22.94 and 23.23 seconds respectively.

“I had high hopes for winning this year as I merely finished second the previous year,” said Edwin.

“I did not expect Hariz to be that fast. I feel that it’s alright since he is one year older than I am. He is slightly more experienced and has more strength than me. I just have to make do with it this year and continue to improve.”

The meet record of 21.88 seconds is held by of ACS(I) alumnus Poh Seng Soh, who set it in 1999.
