Bukit Gombak Stadium, Monday, April 20, 2015 — Haikal Ismail (#285) of Millennia Institute thrust his way to the finish line with a late surge to pocket the A Division boys’ 200m gold at the 56th National Inter-School Track and Field Championships.

“I had a groin injury coming into today’s race and I was actually quite disturbed by that, unsure if it will effect my performance,” said Haikal.

He added, “But I guess I executed well and according to the plan. When Yew Chung, among a few others, attempted to overtake me in the final seconds of the race, I just went all out and pushed myself to the finishing line.”

Raffles Institution’s Chin Yew Chung (#131) finished as the first runner-up, while Timothy Ong (#76) and Mitchell Teh (#73), both of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), tied with a timing of 23.20 seconds for third place.

The meet record was set by Donovan Chen, then of Hwa Chong Institution, in 2012 with a timing of 21.75 seconds.
