Bukit Gombak Stadium, Monday, April 20, 2015 — Defending champion Lynette Lim (#131) of Victoria Junior College (VJC) jumped a distance of 11.94m in the A Division triple jump to win gold and set her second record at the 56th National Inter-School Track and Field Championships.

Her jump of 11.94m broke her previous national record of 11.89m, which was set last year. Lynette had earlier broken the 24-year-old A Division girls’ long jump record with a 5.43m jump.

Her 11.94m jump is also a national junior, under-23, and under-19 record.

Lynette, who turns 18 on November 15, will be participating in the upcoming 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games for the triple jump event.

“I didn’t really go in with much expectations so I wasn’t that nervous. But, I came in with the mindset to do my best,” said Lynette.

She added, “My first jump was, unexpectedly, quite good. I did 11.79m, which was my second best PB. It was my personal best in Secondary 4.”

Siew Lei (#201) of Hwa Chong Institution clinched the silver medal with a jump of 11.07m and teammate Andrea Chong (#178) took bronze with a jump of 10.77m.
