Anglican High School, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 — Dunman Secondary (DMN) defeated Ngee Ann Secondary (NAS) 92–18 in the semi-final of the East Zone B Division Basketball Championship to book themselves a spot in the final.

Tan Yi Rong (#12) of Dunman led his team with game-high 14 points, while Clarence Ong (#11) of Ngee Ann paced his team with 11 points.

Dunman won all four of their games in the second round, placing them at the top of Group X. Ngee Ann had a 3–1 win-loss record to finish second in Group Y.

Dunman started the game well, netting six points in under two minutes. Toshiro Kristen (#9) of Ngee Ann scored the opening basket for his team with a layup effort to put an end to Dunman’s scoring run. Dunman continued to extend their lead with a 10–0 run. Darren Ng (#6) of Dunman did particularly well on offence in this quarter, leading his team with eight points.

In the second quarter, Dunman continued to extend their lead with good teamwork and strong defensive efforts. Dunman denied their opponents scoring opportunities, contributing to an 11–0 run. Dunman led 42–12 going into the halftime break.

The third quarter saw Ngee Ann stepping up defensively as they fought hard to stop Dunman from chalking up more points on the scoreboard. Ngee Ann’s defensive efforts paid off slightly, with Dunman recording their lowest scoring quarter of 14 points.

Dunman held on to their lead, with Ngee Ann losing stamina in the final quarter. Dunman went on a 23–0 run towards the end of the game, finishing off with an impressive 36-point quarter and clocking their highest scoring quarter to send them into the final.

Dunman vice-Captain, Darren Ng (#6), said, “We did pretty well for each quarter but our communication can be improved. The starting quarter was probably not as well because we were too excited.”

With this win, Dunman will go on to face Chung Cheng High (Main) in the final at 3.20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3. Ngee Ann will play Dunman High for a third place at 3.20 p.m. on Monday, March 2. Both games will be held at Anglican High School.
