Palembang Sport and Convention Center, Indonesia, Saturday, December 20, 2014 — Singapore avenged their group stage loss to Malaysia, defeating the latter 75–54 in the 3rd/4th playoff match of the 17th ASEAN University Games (AUG) Basketball Championship to clinch the bronze medal.

Yukie Yoshida led Singapore with a game-high 17 points, while Priscilla Han and Lim Jia Min recorded double-doubles. Han had an excellent output in the second half, scoring 12 of her 16 points in the frame.

Despite nursing a bout of food poisoning, captain Tsang Wei Yi helmed the offence, setting up several opportunities for her teammates in the first half. The Nanyang Technological University student had 10 points in the contest.

Singapore, boasting six national players, including Yoshida, Han, Lim, Tsang, Amelia Lee and Zoe Eng, held their causeway rivals to just 27 percent shooting and outrebounded them 50–35.

With the victory, Singapore completed their AUG outing with a 1–3 win-loss record. In the final, Thailand defeated hosts Indonesia 63–53 to clinch the gold medal.
