Singapore Basketball Centre, Thursday, July 10, 2014 — Seng Kang Secondary (SKS) defeated Deyi Secondary (DYS) 44–28 to advance to round two of the North Zone C Division Boys’ Basketball Championship.

Seng Kang Secondary have four straight wins, while Deyi Secondary have a 1–3 win-loss record.

Noel Teo (SKS #13) led all scorers with 19 points, while teammate Keane Liew (SKS #12) had 12 points. Tan Jun Rong (DYS #4) managed to lead his team with eight points.

Seng Kang did not perform really well for this game as compared to the past few games. Seng Kang took a 14–2 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Deyi outscored Seng Kang 8–5. However, it was not enough as Seng Kang held on to their lead throughout the game with their fast offence and defence.

Seng Kang captain, Keane Liew (#12) had many successful under-baskets. Noel Teo (SKS #13) had many fast break and shot well through the game to lead Seng Kang to a 44–28 victory. Seng Kang finished top of Group C and advanced to the second round. Deyi have been eliminated.

Top scorer, Noel Teo (SKS #13), commented, “I felt disappointed with my performance because I did not play up to my standard. But I think my team did well. I hope we would play well and win all the matches in the second round.”
