Singapore Basketball Centre, Friday, July 4, 2014 — Presbyterian High (PHS) defeated Hougang Secondary (HG) 53–22 in their second game of the first round of the North Zone C Division Boys’ Basketball Championship.

Presbyterian High have a 2–0 win-loss record, while Hougang lost both their games.

PHS (#10) had a game high of 30 points.

In the first quarter, the game was fast-paced. Presbyterian High had a 9–0 run before Rahmat Adnan (HG #11) made the first basket for Hougang. Hougang had multiple turnovers which gave Presbyterian High many scoring chances. Hougang managed to catch up and trailed 7–11 at the end of the quarter.

Hougang were rather slow in their offence which allowed several interceptions by Presbyterian High. On the contrary, Rahmat Adnan (HG #11) was able to net almost every scoring chances he had with the assist of his teammates. Hougang put up a good fight and did not give up despite lacking behind.

Presbyterian High was strong offensively, which allowed them to lead through the game. PHS (#10) was outstanding with a 30-point game. He netted almost every ball under the basket. Presbyterian High clinched the eventual 53–22 victory.

Presbyterian High will next play Compassvale Secondary, while Hougang will play Naval Base Secondary on Tuesday, July 9. Both games will be played at the Singapore Basketball Centre.
