Presbyterian High, Tuesday, March 10, 2014 — Catholic High pulled out the 2–1 win over Bukit Panjang Government High in the group stages of the National B Division Boys Volleyball Championship. It was a close game throughout, which saw each set decided by no more than a three-point margin.

Both teams had already secured qualification to Round 2 prior to the start of the game, although the win means that Catholic High secured a better seeding for the next round. Catholic High finished with an unblemished 3–0 win–loss record at the top of Group C. Bukit Panjang finished second with a 2–1 win–loss record.

The first set saw Bukit Panjang take advantage of a couple of unforced Catholic High errors to win 25–22.

Catholic took a 17–14 lead in the second set, holding on to their service points. But Bukit Panjang managed to rally through strong blocking play at the net. They were able to cut the lead to one point, making the situation tense for Catholic High. Despite this, Catholic High were able to hold their nerve and win the set 25–22.

Both teams went all out in the final set. Bukit Panjang used a triple feint to set up a nice open spike for a point. However, they struggled at one point in the set as bad returns saw them conceding points. With the score tied at 23, Catholic High showcased good communication to take the final two points and win the game.
