Myanmar, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 – Singapore will face Thailand in the semi-finals of the 2013 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games football tournament.

Singapore, after drawing 1–1 with Malaysia in their final game, had to wait for the outcome of Malaysia’s final match against Vietnam. As it turned out, Malaysia beat Vietnam 2–1 to top their group, which meant Singapore finished second in Group A.

Malaysia will meet Group B runners-up, Indonesia, while Singapore will have to face the group winners, Thailand.

Singapore opened their SEA Games campaign with a 1–1 draw against Laos before following that up with a 2–0 win over Brunei.

Against Malaysia, Singapore scored the opening goal through Afiq Yunos but conceded a late 90th-minute equaliser to draw 1–1.

Singapore’s semi-final against Thailand will take place on Thursday, December 19. The game will be shown live on Channel 5 at 8.55pm.
