Sentosa, Saturday, August 17, 2013 – The Singapore edition of the Color Run saw 16,000 take part.

Billed as the Happiest 5K on the Planet, the un-timed race was held in Singapore and South-east Asia for the first time.

The run is not your usual competitive running event, with the official website describing it as “a one of a kind experience that is less about speed and more about enjoying a color crazy day with your friends and family.”

The Color Run has also been held in the United States, Australia and China.

The Singapore route saw runners start from Siloso Beach and run toward Palawan Beach, before heading back to Siloso Beach. The runners were doused with red, yellow, blue and pink powder as they ran.

The fun continued at the finish line with a gigantic Color Throwing Festival where more coloured powder threw up millions of vivid color combinations.

All runners donated $1 from their race entry fee to Project Happy Feet, a charity that aims to alleviate poverty among underprivileged children and youth.
