Chongqing, China, July 21–30, 2013 – Singapore finished in joint-15th position with Kyrgyzstan at the 2013 World Youth Under-16 Chess Olympiad.

India topped the rankings and were followed in second place by Russia. Turkey were third.

Singapore finished above Malaysia (21st), Indonesia (18th), Macau (29th), Hong Kong (30th), and Taipei (31st).

Singapore were also ranked second amongst all ASEAN countries in the team category, with Vietnam taking first place.

There were a total of 72 teams from 26 countries competing in the Olympiad.

Five members of the national junior squad – Liu Xiangyi, Wong Yee Chit, Rudolph Lau Xian Hui, Tommy Tan Tze Lin, and Lew Zhi Hong – represented Singapore in this tournament.
