Singapore Sports School, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 — Having just set a new meet record the previous day in the C Division Boys 50 metres backstroke final, Francis Fong of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) finished first in the 100m backstroke final at the 54th National Schools Swimming Championship with a timing of 1 minute 01.50 seconds. In doing so, he tied his own meet and National Under-14 record set during the heats the previous week.

“I’m very happy to have set a new record again. I have done my coach, my teammates, family and friends proud,” said Francis.

Raffles Institution bagged both the silver and bronze medals with Ethan Ong and Lim Fang Jan finishing in 1:03.04 and 1:09.01 respectively.
