Singapore Sports School, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 — 16-year-old Lim Ching Hwang of Singapore Sports School broke his own meet record of 1 minute 52.75 seconds with a time of 1:51.17 in the boys’ B Division 200 metres freestyle final at the 54th National Schools Swimming Championships.

Ching Hwang led from start to finish and touched home more than nine seconds ahead of teammate Marcus Ralph Goetz, who finished second in a time of 2:00.56. Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)’s Nigel Ng took the bronze just behind Marcus in 2:00.62.

Ching Hwang represented Malaysia at the last Southeast Asian Games in 2011, and has a personal best of 1:50.42 set at last month’s National Age Group Championships.
