Singapore Sports School, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 — Meagan Lim of Anglo-Chinese Junior College clocked a time of 1 minute 2.57 seconds to win the girls’ A Division 100 metres butterfly final at the 54th National Schools Swimming Championships. It broke her own championship record of 1:03.01 set during the heats.

Meagan dominated the race and finished four and a half seconds ahead of silver medalist Annis Loy of Temasek Junior College.

Meagan commented: “I’m not very happy with the timing, but I’m happy with breaking my own record again, which was set during the heats.”

The 17-year-old, who made her Southeast Asian Games debut 17 months ago in Palembang, has a personal best of 1:02.18, set in March last year.

Annis clocked a time of 1:07.07 while Gayle Tan of Raffles Institution took home bronze with a time of 1:07.77.

Meagan also bagged gold in the 100m backstroke final, clocking a time of 1:06.03. It took place less than half an hour after the 100m butterfly final.
