Singapore Sports School, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 — Jerryl Yong of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) won the gold medal in the boys’ A Division 100 metres butterfly at the 54th National Schools Swimming Championships. He finished the race in a new championship record time of 56.43 seconds, breaking his own mark of 56.61s set during the heats.

“I’m very glad because I worked very hard for this. The race was painful but enjoyable, and I treat every race as a lesson learnt,” said Jerryl, whose personal best (PB) stands at 56.03s set last June.

Samuel Koh of Raffles Institution took home the silver medal in a new PB of 57.23s while Ju Jia Liang of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) bagged bronze in 59.77s.
