Bishan Stadium, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 — Three new records were set on the fourth day of competition at the 54th National Inter-Primary School Track & Field Championships. Nanyang Primary’s Carlyne Li and Celeste Li set a new record in the D girls’ 300m and 600m respectively.
Earlier on enroute to the final, both girls had already broken the previous record in their respective heats. Carlyne clocked 48.09 seconds in the 300m while Celeste clocked 1 minute 59.22 seconds in the 600m. Carlyne then lowered her own record to 47.83s in the final whereas Celeste lowered hers to 1: 58.91.
Rohan Verma of Northland Primary rounded up the trio of new record holders, smashing the D boys’ shot put record of 9.89m, set in 2009 by Red Swastika School’s Kang Jun Jie, with his attempt of 10.15m.
