Choa Chu Kang Sports Complex, Wednesday, April 17, 2013 — Having set a new record for the C Division 200m, Ismi Zakiah Binte Kashful Anwar of Singapore Sports School was not yet done. In the C Division 100m final, Ismi attained another gold medal with a 12.76-second effort, missing out on the record by 0.02s at the 54th National Schools Track and Field Championships.

The C Division 200m record is 12.74s and was set in 2012 by Nur Izlyn Bte Zaini, also of Sports School.

Singapore Sports School had a podium sweep for this event as Ismi’s teammates, Iman Fandi and Nurul Syarah Bte Razali, finished second and third respectively. Iman had a 13.04s run while Nurul finished in 13.14s.

It was a tight race over the first 10 to 20 metres. As the race neared the halfway mark, a prominent lead triangle formed with Ismi leading, while Iman and Nurul just behind.

“It was a good run but my starting was very slow. My push off needs to be improved upon. Luckily, I managed to open up my stride and pick up speed in the middle,” said Ismi.
