Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), Friday, April 5, 2013 – Raffles Girls’ School (RGS) beat Nanyang Girls’ High School 3–2 in round two of the National B Division Girls Badminton Championship.

Raffles Girls’ won the first three matches comfortably. Nanyang Girls’ managed to score their first point when Wilma Sin and Shernice Sim beat Charissa Wong and Alicia Loo of RGS 21–18, 14–21 and 21–17.

Nanyang Girls’ scored their second point when Chin Wei Yee triumphed over Lee Shu Zhen from RGS 2–1 (21–8, 14–21, 21–14).

In the first set, Wei Yee won by a comfortable 21–8. However, Shu Zhen did not give up and began to catch up in the second game and eventually won with a score of 21–14. In the decider, the two were still close, with Shu Zen leading by a slim 11–9. However, Wei Yee pulled away to emerge as the ultimate winner of the match by winning the third game 21–14.

Meanwhile in other matches, Anglican High School managed to defeat Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School 4–1, while River Valley High School beat Singapore Chinese Girls’ School 3–2. In addition, Singapore Sports School triumphed over Xinmin Secondary School with a close score of 3–2.
