Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Friday, April 5, 2013 — Valerie Cheong of Cedar Girls’ Secondary won the B Division high jump with a leap of 1.60 metres at the 54th National Schools Track and Field Championships.

The B Division record is 1.64m and was set by Michelle Sng Suat Li, then of Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, in 2003.

Two Nanyang Girls’ High student-athletes followed her onto the podium. Lim Ping cleared 1.54m while her teammate Kon Pei Ying managed 1.50m.

N.B. We did not manage to get a photo of either Valerie Cheong or Lim Ping in action.
