Singapore, Monday, March 11, 2013 – The 2013 Sundown Marathon race route will feature the Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Flyer, as well as the soon-to-be-completed Singapore Sports Hub. The race will be taking place over two nights on May 31st and June 1st this year.

The three race routes (Marathon, Half marathon and 10km) are set to flag-off at the F1 Pit Building.

Half and full marathon runners can expect to run past the recently-launched Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Financial Centre and the upcoming Singapore Sports Hub in the reverse direction to previous routes before passing through the Floating Platform and heading for the finish at the Singapore Flyer.

10km runners will begin their run at the F1 Pit Building before passing through Suntec City, Singapore Sports Hub, Kallang Riverside Park and Marina Promenade.

Participants of the half marathon category will begin their race at 11.30pm on May 31st, followed shortly by the 10km runners who will set out at 12.30am on June 1st. The 42km full-marathon race will start at 11.30pm on June 1st. Registration fees for the three races are priced at $53 (10km), $60 (Half Marathon) and $80 (Marathon).

Said Adrian Mok, Director of race organiser, HiVelocity Events Pte Ltd: “Thanks to the F1 Night Race, Singapore has become known globally for its magnificent cityscape at night. It is even more spectacular this year with the completion of the beautiful Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Bay Financial Centre.”

“With the Sundown Marathon heading into its sixth edition this year, we wanted runners to experience this amazing urban landscape to motivate them as they run and perhaps get a glimpse of what its like to race on part of the F1 route. It will also be a great treat for all our overseas participants!”
