NUS, Monday, October 1, 2012 — The National University of Singapore (NUS) retained their Singapore University Games (SUniG) netball title when they beat the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) 65-42.

This was the game to decide the title winner after both teams had won their first two games. NUS had beaten the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and the Singapore Management University (SMU) 78-41 and 51-25 respectively. NTU had also seen off the challenge of SIM (54-30) and SMU (40-20).

NUS set a blistering pace in the first quarter, with Yasmin Ho (Goal Shooter) showing an accuracy that NTU struggled to match.

By the end of the first 15 minutes, NUS were ahead 22-11, a lead they would never relinquish.

That 11-point lead proved an obstacle for NTU. Though they were only outscored four and two goals in the second and third quarter respectively, NTU still trailed by 17 points (34-51) heading into the final quarter.

It was deficit too large to make up and NUS outscored NTU 14-8 in the last 15 minutes to wrap up the title.
