Toa Payoh Swimming Complex, Sunday, June 10, 2012 — Singapore’s Fong Kay Yian and Myra Lee missed out on a podium finish when they finished fourth and fifth respectively in the Women’s 3m Springboard event at the Southeast Asia Swimming Championships.

Despite having a far from perfect entry in one early attempt, Fong Kay Yian redeemed herself in her later attempts to finish fourth with a total score of 221.65 points, three points behind bronze medal winner Adeline Chan Wei Ling of Malaysia.

Myra Lee, who had earlier won a silver medal in the Synchronised 3m Springboard event, scored a total of 199.25 points to finish fifth.

13-year-old Nur Dhabitah from Malaysia took the gold medal with a total score of 240.75 points (total dive difficulty 11.2). 2011 SEA Games medalist Sari Ambarwati from Indonesia clinched the silver medal with 237.70 points (total dive difficulty 13.1). Adeline Chan scored 224.45 points (total dive difficulty 10).
