Tuesday, April 11, 2012 — Fairfield Methodist School will meet Raffles Institution again in the final of the C Division Boys’ Squash Championship on April 19th at Kallang Squash Centre.

Defending champions Fairfield beat RI 3-2 to win the 2011 C Division final.

RI have not won the C Division squash title for many years but beating Fairfield will be an uphill task.

Fairfield, with top squash junior Kojiro Tan and a team of Secondary 2 boys, have displayed more depth and experience. They showed their class, cruising to the semi-final by beating both St Andrew’s Secondary and National Junior College by 5-0 margins.

In the semi-final, Fairfield beat St Joseph’s Institution 4-1.

RI has Rayden Tan, a leading national junior trainee, in its stable but has a team comprising of a mix of Secondary 2 and 1 boys. However, RI showed they are no minnows by chalking up impressive victories against St Patrick’s School (5-0), Hwa Chong Institution(4-1) and SJI (4-1).

RI went on to beat Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) 4-1 in the other semi-final. This was certainly no easy feat as ACS(I) have been dominating this sport for many years.

So come down to Kallang Squash Centre on Thursday, April 19th to witness this exciting clash. The atmosphere is certain to be good with vociferous supporters from both schools.
